Senator Jon Husted announced that Ohio will receive $6.87 million as part of a Senate-approved funding package. The bill, which passed with bipartisan support, is intended to advance research and innovation, protect the environment, and strengthen national security.

“This bill includes significant investments in Ohio that advance research and innovation, protect our environment and secure America from our adversaries. Ohioans can always count on me to deliver real results and ensure our state has the resources it needs to thrive,” said Husted.

He also addressed the broader impact of the legislation: “This bill is also a meaningful step forward—fully funding essential services for Americans and providing stability for families, workers and communities across the country. The recent government shutdown caused unnecessary pain for the American people, and I’m encouraged that we are on a path to avoiding another shutdown through today’s vote.”

The funding package consists of three out of twelve appropriations subcommittee bills required to fully fund the federal government. All three bills were approved by both the Senate Appropriations Committee and on the Senate floor with support from both parties.

Husted secured specific allocations for Ohio through congressionally directed spending requests. In addition to these state-specific items, the package provides funding for commerce, justice, science programs, environmental initiatives, interior programs, as well as energy and water projects.
