Senator Jon Husted, a U.S. Senator from Ohio, posted a series of updates on social media addressing legislative initiatives and recent events between April 9 and April 10, 2026.
On April 9, Husted highlighted his support for national election reforms, stating, “The SAVE America Act builds on what’s already working in states like Ohio to strengthen election integrity nationwide.”
Later the same day, he commented on a railway accident and renewed his call for rail safety legislation. Husted wrote, “The people involved in this accident are in my prayers today. This is, unfortunately, yet another example of why Congress needs to pass my Railway Safety Act of 2026. We owe it to the crew members and the communities that trains travel through to make our tracks safer.”
On April 10, Husted reported meeting with Kendra Noyes, CEO of Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He stated, “Had the privilege of meeting with the CEO of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Kendra Noyes, to discuss school-based telehealth and how the Rural Health Transformation Fund in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act will help the hospital’s work and sustainability.”
Senator Husted has held several leadership roles in Ohio state government before joining the U.S. Senate—including Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, secretary of state, and lieutenant governor (official website). He serves on Senate committees focusing on health, education, labor and pensions; small business and entrepreneurship; environment and public works; and aging (official website). His legislative priorities have included tax reductions and educational choice scholarships. Husted has also been recognized for defending voter roll integrity in a Supreme Court case (official website).
He earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Dayton (official website) where he was an All-American defensive back for their football team.
