Senator Jon Husted, U.S. Senator from Ohio, shared updates on tax relief measures, aviation industry support, and child welfare initiatives in a series of posts on April 7, 2026.

In his first post, Husted highlighted recent IRS data: “Early IRS data shows the average tax refund is $3,804. My goal is to make life more affordable, and the Working Families Tax Cuts Act is delivering real relief for families.” (April 7, 2026).

Later that day, he emphasized Ohio’s role in aviation history and ongoing industry investment: “Ohio is the birthplace of aviation. From Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to NASA Glenn and the 104 public-use airports around the state, Ohio is still the place where the aviation industry takes flight. I was proud to support funding for air traffic control modernization in the” (April 7, 2026).

In another update from Mt. Vernon, Husted recognized local efforts supporting foster children: “It was great to be in Mt. Vernon today at @TVillageNetwork. The work being done here is making a real difference for Ohio’s foster children, and it was inspiring to see it firsthand.” (April 7, 2026).

Husted has held multiple leadership roles in Ohio government prior to his tenure in the U.S. Senate—including Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, secretary of state, and lieutenant governor—where he advanced tax reductions and educational choice scholarships (official website). He currently serves on Senate committees focusing on health, education, labor and pensions; small business and entrepreneurship; environment and public works; and aging (official website). Husted earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Dayton (official website) and resides with his family in Columbus.
