ReadyNotify alerts residents to emergencies

Announcement

City of Berea recently issued the following announcement.

ReadyNotify is a notification system run by the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management. Residents can sign up with ReadyNotify to be alerted to local emergencies, such as water boil alerts, weather situations and other safety messages.

Enrollment is voluntary.

ReadyNotify has merged with CodeRED. Law/Safety Director Barbara Jones advises residents that previously signed up for CodeRed to re-register for ReadyNotify if they want to continue to receive messages.

“This delivers messages to the public in real time,” she said.

Residents can opt to receive messages on home phones, cell phones, work phones, via text messages or email, via TDD transmission or by a mobile app.

To register, to check on a registration or to update your registration, go to readynotify.us. Those without computer access can call the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management at (216) 443-5700. For more information, visit https://ready.cuyahogacounty.us.
