Cleveland Institute of Music recently issued the following announcement.
Join us via livestream on February 24 or 26 at 7pm as CIM Opera Theater transforms Kulas Hall into a television studio for three operatic incarnations of plays by William Shakespeare, directed by Dean Southern (DMA ’09, Schiller).
Guest artists Andrew Manea (BM ’13, Billions) and Alex Soare join the cast in extended excerpts from Verdian favorites Falstaff and Otello, as well as the rarely performed Macbeth by CIM’s first director, Ernest Bloch. The CIM Orchestra, led by conductor Harry Davidson, will perform from the stage while the cast appears on screen from platforms built across Kulas Hall. Special intermission features will examine Shakespeare in opera.
