City of Euclid issued the following announcement.
Magnet recognition is the highest honor for professional nursing practice awarded by subsidiary of the American Nurses Association
Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital has received Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), which is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practice.
“Receiving Magnet recognition is a true reflection of the excellent quality care that our nurses deliver every day to our patients,” said Teresa Dews, M.D., president of Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital. “Their resilience and dedication through stable as well as difficult times is a testament to the truest spirit of caregiving.”
The ANCC is the world’s largest nurse credentialing organization, and is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association. The ANCC describes its Magnet recognition program as recognizing healthcare organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice.
To achieve Magnet recognition, organizations go through an extensive review and systematic evaluation of their nursing practices by the ANCC. The process includes the review of documentation and a site visit by ANCC professionals who evaluate the hospital against numerous quantitative and qualitative standards that represent excellence in nursing services, clinical outcomes and patient care delivery.
Euclid Hospital was recognized for outstanding work in seven areas in the following categories:
Nursing Quality Outperformance Inpatient Setting
Nursing Quality Outperformance Ambulatory Setting
Patient Satisfaction Ambulatory

With this achievement, Euclid Hospital joins a select group of more than 500 healthcare institutions worldwide. It is the ninth hospital in the Cleveland Clinic health system to earn Magnet designation. Others include:
