With the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships quickly approaching, John Carroll Women's Track & Field looked to qualify a couple more for next Thursday.

Lucia Cannata re-broke her record in the 200m in a highlight of the day. The senior crossed the line in 24.73, improving .03 seconds. That places her 23rd in the country in the event.

Taylor Anthony came close to a PR in the 100m. The junior Communications major tallied a time of 12.20 in the finals, finishing first. Mia Scott set a PR with a time of 12.52.

JCU trotted out the 4x100 relay, but couldn't quite erase any time from the seed. Scott, Lucia Cannata, Anthony, and Genevieve Arnold combined for a time of 47.90.

Claire Eberhardt raced in the 800m, but also couldn't improve on her time. Still, her tally of 2:15.61 earned her second. Victoria Miller also competed in the event, clocking in at 2:38.39 in her first time in the event.

Madeline Scherle stood out in the javelin. The Rochester Hills native set a PR with a mark of 38.25m.

In the long jump, Arnold leaped to a distance of 5.25m for fifth. Miller also fell short of her previous PR in the triple jump, coming in at 10.31m. Olivia Stefka finished behind at 9.37m.

Kelsey Dunn won the discus for JCU, with a toss of 44.81m. She did not improve on her previous best, but she stands eighth in D-III currently.

The 2022 NCAA Division III Championship selections will be announced Friday, May 20 in a press release on NCAA.com. The 2022 D-III outdoor track & field championships are from May 26-28 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
