Arrows Blank Storm 7-0

The Ursuline College soccer team had an outstanding shut out victory against the Lake Erie Storm on Thursday.

The Arrows set the pace of the game from the start and pressured the Storm's defense with their strong play. Seniors, Addisen Holt and Jesmila Yohendran put UC on the board in the 12th minute when Yohendran made a beautiful pass to Holt to shoot in a goal. Just three minutes later, Fiona Rombach went on a breakaway to put in the Arrows second goal of the half. Rombach didn't stop her scoring there as Holt set her up for another goal in the 24th minute. Holt had her third point of the half in the 36th minute when she put in a goal in the center of the net, bringing the score to 4-0 going into the half. The Arrows outshot the Storm 18-0 in the first.

Ursuline came out of the half with momentum and continued their scoring when Yohendran lined up for a corner kick. She sailed the ball towards Fallon Joyce who headed the ball into the goal in the 53th minute. Less than a minute later, Nicola Ehrbar put in the Arrows' sixth goal off a pass from Rombach. UC saw their final goal in the final two minutes of the game when Christina Coreno put in a rebounded shot, her first career goal. The Arrows finished with a 7-0 victory over Lake Erie.

Ursuline Goalkeepers Kathy Reich and Morgan Demagall locked in the shut out victory, Reich with 60 minutes of work and Demagall with 30 minutes and one save. The Arrows outshot Lake Erie 36-2 with 18-1 shots on goal.

Ursuline hits the road on Saturday to face off against Ohio Dominican at 1:00 PM.
