First home meet of the season for Swimming & Diving

This Week: The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team will have their home-opening meet on Friday Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. The Falcons will host a tri-meet with Oberlin College and Edinboro University coming to Mellen Pool.

Coaches Corner: Notre Dame is led by Stephanie Mulvin who enters her sixth season with the Falcon swimming and diving program. Mulvin has three MEC Championship trophies under her belt, after coaching the men's side to three consecutive conference crowns in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Alex de la Pena heads the Oberlin College swimming and diving team in his fifth season. Chris Rhodes is the head coach of Edinboro University in his 19th season.

Rankings: None of these teams are ranked according to the CSCAA Top 25 poll.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame College has been in the pool twice this season, beginning with the Early Invite at Oberlin College, and most recently for a tri-meet at Salem University.

NDC placed third on both the men's and women's side at the Early Invite which featured competition from Oberlin and Ashland University. The men totaled 25 points, while the women tallied 18.

Last weekend, the Falcons competed against Salem and Wheeling University, as both NDC teams took second. Notre Dame got the best of Wheeling, before narrowly falling to Salem.

Noting the Yeoman: Oberlin College is fresh off a victory by both their men's and women's teams at Malone University. The Yeoman handled the Pioneers, 173-38 on the men's side and 156-50 on the women's side.

Prior to that, Oberlin hosted the Early Invite with NDC and Ashland University. The OC men's team picked up a pair of victories, while the women's team beat the Falcons and fell to the Golden Eagles.

Noting the Fighting Scots: Edinboro has only swam once this season, which took place last weekend for a dual meet at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Both EU squads were defeated on the day 164-60 on the men's side and 143-87 on the women's side.
