CSU featured in The Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges 2023

Cleveland State University has been featured in The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges for the fifth consecutive year. The Princeton Review chose the 455 schools in the guide based on a survey conducted at 713 colleges concerning sustainability-aimed institutional policies, practices and programs.

CSU earned 91 out of 99 possible points for its Green Rating score and, as a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), offers a wide variety of resources for campus stakeholders to build and maintain the culture of sustainability on campus.

Accessible for free at www.princetonreview.com/green-guide, the Guide to Green Colleges 2023 Edition profiles these colleges and universities, as well as the many unique data points that were analyzed in the selection of schools for the guide and ranking list. CSU earned points for our purchase of renewable energy, our recycling and conservation programs, and the availability of environmental programs in academic offerings.

“Students year after year show that they are interested in the sustainability performance of the institution,” says Jennifer McMillin, Director of Sustainability at CSU. “We are honored to once again be recognized for our commitment to sustainability in campus operations and our excellent range of academic programs featuring sustainability in science, engineering and urban planning.”

Conscientious students, faculty, staff and administrators can help keep the sustainability mission at CSU rolling by working to reduce single-use items, utilize digital resources (in lieu of printed materials), take public transit or rideshare to and from campus, engage in the purchase/sale and upcycle of second-hand items (including books) and—of course—recycle.
