Michael Caris Joins Women's Golf Coaching Staff as an Assistant Coach | John Carroll University

An experienced veteran is joining the John Carroll Women's Golf coaching staff. 

Michael Caris has been brought aboard as an assistant coach for JCU Women's Golf.

Caris joins Head Coach Missy Gedeon as the 2023 spring season approaches. 

"I'm thrilled to join the program and coach with Missy," said Caris. "I'm excited to help grow the program. I'm looking forward to contributing my golf expertise and helping to develop the student-athletes."

Caris is a Findlay, Ohio native. He graduated Van Buren High School before attending Point Park University. Caris is a graduate of the Professional Golfers Career College (2011-2012).

Caris has been in the golf industry since 2012, holding roles such as Assistant Golf Professional at Sycamore Hills Golf Club & Barrington Golf Club and Teaching Professional with GOLFTEC.

The experienced coach has worked with students of all skill levels, including professionals & NCAA Student-Athletes, teaching over 1,000 lessons in his career.

Currently, Caris is the Business Manager for SRC Worldwide located in Cleveland. He resides in Parma with his wife, Emily, a 2018 John Carroll graduate. 

"I am very happy to have the assistance from Michael Caris to coach and lead the John Carroll women," said Gedeon. "His breadth of experience, aptitude for the golf swing and his in-depth knowledge of the game will help our program grow even more. I truly feel blessed to have him be part of the women's golf program."
