On Tuesday, three Notre Dame College wrestlers were placed among the top 20 of The Open Mat individual rankings. As teams throughout Division II take the holiday break, Matthew Kaufmann (149), Cale Hoskinson (157) and La'Ron Parks (285) are ranked after the first half of the season. (Rankings)

Parks has moved up to No. 12 from the No. 18 spot in the heavyweight division. Parks was one of just two NDC wrestlers to place at the Midwest Classic, last weekend. In that open, the Falcons faced some very tough competition. Parks pinned two opponents to start the day, including Cale Gray of the University of Indianapolis, who was ranked No. 14 according to The Open Mat.

Switching from 165 to 157 last weekend, Hoskinson still wrestled well and placed seventh at the Midwest Classic. He is sitting at No. 8 at 157 lbs. after taking the 15th spot at 165, last week. At 165, Hoskinson won his weight bracket earlier this season at the King Open and Lake Erie Open. His signature victory at the Midwest Classic came against UW-Parkside's Ben Derocher, ranked No. 11 at 157.

Kaufmann remained in 19th at 149, according to The Open Mat. Kaufmann has had a solid season so far, going 5-0 at the Glenville State Duals to start the season, winning at 149 lbs. at the Lake Erie Open and taking Mountain East Conference Wrestler of the Week, on Dec. 5. At the Midwest Classic, he tallied three wins over the two days.

Notre Dame will compete next in a dual meet, against Davis & Elkins College, on Jan. 8.
