The Kent State men's basketball team (12-3, 2-0 MAC) used a last-minute comeback to edge past Miami (6-9, 0-2 MAC) 69-66 to win its sixth consecutive game.

Neither team was able to get a grip on a lead with 16 lead changes and nine ties. The Golden Flashes struggled with rebounding and only shot 29 percent from the three. Miami was able to get an edge on the Flashes outrebounding them 35-to-32 and forcing 17 turnovers.

With the Flashes struggling, offensive leader, Sincere Carry took matters into his own hands scoring a game-high 31 points. Carry's 31 points ties his season high and is the second time he has scored 30+ points. With 13 double-digit games, Carry sits in 7th place in the MAC with 17.3 points per game.

Neither side led by more than four points, and the two teams combined for 10 lead changes in the opening 20 minutes. Carry finished the period with 15 points to lead both offenses as Kent State barely held on with a one-point advantage going into the second half.

Senior Miryne Thomas contributed to the Flahses' win by recording two steals and six rebounds. Thomas was the only other player on Kent State to record double-digits with 12 points. Thomas shot perfectly from the free-throw line (2-for-2) and 50 percent from the field (4-of-8).

Redhawks' Ryan Mabrey made it 60-59 with a layup in the paint and only 2:30 left. Carry once again answered hitting a three-pointer to give the Flashes' a two-possession lead. Miami was unable to get any closer than the final score down the stretch.
