Cleveland State Track & Field Returns To Action At Marshall Classic

The Cleveland State track & field team returned to action Saturday, participating in the Marshall Classic. 

"Today's meet was a good early season litmus test for us to see where are strength and fitness level is after the holiday break, and what we need to work on moving forward," head coach Jason Hudson said. "We were able to record six personal-bests today, along with a pair of top-six finishes from Karly and Dynesty, which was a strong start to the calendar year for both of them."

Cleveland State was paced by a pair of sixth-place finishes from Karly Klaer and Dynesty Ervin, as Klaer recorded a mark of 11.40 in the Shot Put and Ervin notched a time of 1:00.42 in the 400 Meter Dash. 

The Vikings' third top-10 finish came from Autumn Hejduk in the Shot Put, as she posted a mark of 10.46. 

Cleveland State also had strong showings from Jillian McArdle in the Long Jump (12th – 4.79) and Kayla Zdanowicz in the 600 Meter Run (12th – 1:52.69). 

Making their Cleveland State track & field debuts on Saturday were; Karly Klaer, Autumn Hejduk, Tara Will, and Madeline Crissman. 

The Vikings will be back in action next weekend, taking part in the Mastodon Invitational.
