Notre Dame College has placed among the top higher education institutions in the US for its online graduate degree in nursing.

The Princeton Review named the College’s online Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) among the Best Online Nursing School Master’s Programs in the country for 2023. The education services company generally uses data like career outcomes, admissions selectivity and academic rigor, among other factors, to determine top graduate programs. The Princeton Review does not award specific rankings to nursing schools.

Notre Dame was among schools ranging from Duke University to the University of Southern California to make the Princeton list. A total of 189 institutions were selected as the best master’s programs in nursing. Nationwide, more than 500 schools of nursing provide about 2,000 different graduate programs for nurses, according to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

The MSN at Notre Dame entails 39 credit hours; up to six credits can be accepted via transfer. The cost per credit hour now is $630. Courses are all online and offered in 8-week durations. A full-time student typically can complete the degree in two years. Admissions are rolling, and the next program begins August 28. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not required.

MSN students at the College also complete a 120-hour practicum, gaining real world experience. The program prepares nurses for advanced professional practice as well as to be educators in the field.
