August Michael Michalske was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 24, 1903. He played college football at Penn State, primarily as a guard and fullback from 1923 to 1925. Michalske began his professional career with the New York Yankees and later played for the Green Bay Packers, where he helped the team win three consecutive NFL championships from 1929 to 1931. He was selected seven times as a first-team All-Pro and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1964. Michalske also worked as a football coach at several colleges and professional teams. His connection to Cleveland includes his early years growing up and attending high school there. He died in 1983 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Michalske’s career is noted for his contributions as both a player and coach in American football.
